I haven't shouted it across town that I am pregnant unless you are my personal Facebook friend, but I am expecting a little bundle come late September! This is definitely a personal post to let you all know a little more about me.
I am planning for a home birth this time around with baby number 3. I had natural births with a midwife in the hospital with my first two sons, and I decided to still go with a midwife once we moved back to Texas. You never know how birth is going to play out, but if I could have my ideal birth I would have a water birth in my sunroom surrounded by my husband, doula, midwife, birth photographer, birth videographer, and maybe some (or a lot) of indoor plants. My plan is to labor for as long as possible before getting in the birth pool to push. We will see how this birth turns out!
My last two were born close to noon, and my labors were 45 hours and 32 hours. I'm hoping for a much quicker labor this time around! I am seeing a Webster-certified chiropractor this pregnancy, and I'm hoping it makes all the difference to get baby in the right position and my body in the best alignment for birth.
I photograph and document all types of birth, but I definitely have an affinity for home births. My ten-year goal is to become a midwife myself to further that affinity! Home birth just sets a different tone of comfort and empowerment. I hope to shoot many more home births in the years to come!
Here are a few pictures of me in front of my home!
